MILWAUKEE |  0:1  | DePAUL
DPU - Wyatt (40th)
Final
Live Stats

5:58 - That'll do it from DePaul. Thanks for tuning in. I'll be back at Noon on Sunday from Madison as Milwaukee takes on Vanderbilt.

5:56 - And it's a final, Milwaukee falls to 0-5-0. I cannot stress how unlucky this team has been this season. Very nice finish by DePaul to find the net but the Panthers certainly had the majority of dangerous chances, especially early on.

5:54 - Morgan's cross find's V but her one-timer goes wide and that might do it.

5:50 - Under five to play. Milwaukee has been pushing higher with its wingers trying to get the equalizer and DePaul stalls in the corner to draw out the game.

5:46 - Morgan doing what she does, taking a pass from Kelsey, turning and sprinting straight past the defense. Her shot went right at the keeper though.

5:45 - Stern is helped up and walks off on her own power. V also back on, taking Krissy's spot.

5:42 - Another injury moment for Milwaukee. 50/50 ball with Stern and she instantly fell holding her left knee. Kelsey was already scheduled to come in for her and makes her way to the huddle. Chad is tending to Stern.

5:37 - Nothing much to report on. An interesting bit of play by Milwaukee's defense and keeper as Paige came out trying to collect a ball but ended up running around and chasing the ball in the box. Thankfully Amy cleared and crisis averted. 13 minutes to play.

5:31 - A few more chances both ways but nothing in the end. Game has opened up a bit. Kelsey comes off and is replaced by Morgan.

5:27 - Amy and a Blue Demon both go hard for a ball and stay down. Amy appeared to be holding her wrist...both pop back up and it's play on. 24 minutes to go.

5:26 - Milwaukee now on the attack, at first no one wanted to shoot so Amy came up and rocketed one from the right side. Tough angle...hard to say if she was shooting or trying to hit Maria on the far side but the keeper made a nice dive to negate the chance.

5:22 - Another scary moment...DePaul scored on a nice header but the girl was offside. On the ensuing play, Holbert goes down hard but slowly gets back up and play resumes. Maria back in for V.

5:19 - Nice counter by UWM...Caity played Lewers down the left side. Krissy played her cross and just heal flicked it to Emma whose shot went just wide. Nice bit of play.

5:15 - Freekick for Milwaukee in a dangerous spot...Holbert chips low and Alleina's shot from distance went wide. And on that play, Alleina was subbed into the game for Tatum, who somehow got blood all over her jersey. Bloody nose? And Emma Worthington also comes on for Morgan.

5:08 - Yikes! Wyatt again one-on-one, this time Paige makes the save. Another DPU shot from the left somehow skips past Paige but it rolls just wide of the net. Dodged a bullet there.

5:06 - Scary moment as Wyatt gets a shot with no defender blocking her from nearly the same spot in the opening minute but it goes wide.

5:05 - Second half lineups are the starters for both sides and we're underway in the second half.

5:02 - A few thoughts as we wait for the players to come back...Milwaukee has definitely created the more dangerous chances, but just can't get their foot to the final ball...I've said it before, but this field is really fast. Milwaukee has to adjust to that...it was a nice finish by a good goalscorer for DePaul to give them the lead at the break. A bit unlucky to be caught that high off a turnover, but have to respect Wyatt's speed if she can get around/behind the D like that.

5:00 - A few halftime stats...

                      UWM    DPU
Shots                 4            6
Saves                 2            1
Corners             0            0
Offside              1            1
Fouls                 1            2

4:51 - Nothing of substance after the goal and we've reached halftime, DePaul leads 1-0. Same story for Milwaukee so far with another goal right before half. A bit unlucky as the goalscorer definitely has some speed and Hannah is still maybe a touch slow after her injury from game #1, but not the first time that's happened this year. Got to get that fixed.

4:44 - Goal for DePaul. Wyatt took a pass off a turnover by Milwaukee near midfield and just dribbled all the way to the box. Paige came out, she beat her with the shot. 1-0 DPU in the 40th minute.

4:41 - Emma on for the injured Callie. Just under 8 minutes in the half remaining.

4:39 - Stoppage in play as a player is down for Milwaukee. No one in the booth saw it happen as it wasn't during anything of substance but Callie went down and Chad (the trainer) sprinted right out. She's being helped off the field...seems to be favoring her right knee.

4:37 - Two more subs. Mel comes on for Lewers and Manski for Kelsey.

4:34 - Nice shot from DPU's #7 Wyatt from distance. Paige gets a hand to it and keeps it in for the clearance. 11 minutes left in the half.

4:33 - Not trying to complain...both teams are playing on the same surface, but the way Milwaukee has been playing and looking for that final pass...if this field isn't as fast as it is I think the Panthers have two goals with the through balls that they've played. They just keep rolling.

4:29 - And now a great chance for DePaul but the shot from close range is blocked by Tatum. Paige appeared to be in position though

4:27 - Stephans and Callie now on for Milwaukee in place of V and Morgan.

4:26 - Wow. Two more great chances for Milwaukee. Kelsey met the ball just at the same time as the sliding keeper (awfully similar to Morgan's goal against Miami) but the rebound deflected far away. Then Morgan drove straight through the defense but was turned away at the last minute.

4:23 - Dangerous moment for Milwaukee. Dorre with a big blast blocked by the defense...she collected the rebound but was unselfish when she maybe should have shot and her pass went away.

4:20 - A few more chances for DePaul but no shots from in it. Entertaining moment...Hannah fought off two attackers who dropped to the ground as if this was the WWE. We'll try to come up with a good nickname for her on the bus back.

4:16 - DPU has its best chance so far bu the Panther defense blocked the ball away. I know I said it already, but this field is really fast. The ball just rolls and rolls. Definitely a different feeling from most stadiums.

4:13 - So far lots of possession by UWM but nothing resulting just yet. Morgan played Amy just outside the box but her curving shot went a few feet wide left.

4:09 - Oooooh. Amy megged a defender in the right corner and had a clear run but her cross went rolling through the box harmless as Lewers was fighting with a defender and went down but no foul.

4:07 - DePaul with a shot from distance that Paige corralled but looked like it was heading out. Krissy with a blast on the other side that was blocked by the defense. Kelsey and Lewers were working together and got the ball through the defense but the keeper beat Kelsey to it.

4:03 - This field is somewhat like Engelmann in that it's an artificial surface and it's a "smaller" field surrounded by buildings. However, Engelmann doesn't have a train rolling past every few minutes and even by DePaul's own account, this field has seen its better days. Very fast surface.

4:02 -

4:00 - And we're underway from Chicago. DePaul starts the game with a kickoff and instantly boot the ball to Paige.

3:56 - DePaul will counter with Kodros, Wyatt, Pitman, Ryce, Paul, Nordness, Roller, Pekovitch, Griek, and Goddard, with Godinez in the net for the Blue Demons.

3:54 - The Panthers will be using their opening-day lineup of Paige in goal, Caity, Amy, Hannah and Tatum in the back. Vienna, Morgan, Kelsey and Stern are in the middle with Kelly Lewers and Krissy up top.

3:52 - Milwaukee will be wearing their gold jerseys again today, with DePaul sporting their all-white kit.

3:47 -

3:45 - One note - there is a livestream of the game being offered. The link is:
http://www.depaulbluedemons.com/allaccess/?media=398552
I'm told that it is behind a paywall and costs about $10 for a one-day subscription. For what it's worth, I was told it's not that great, but I'll let you make the call. I'll be here all game if that helps sway you one way or another, but my feelings will not be hurt if you go the way of the video. :)

3:40 - Hello and welcome to Wish Field on Chicago's north side just a few miles from Wrigley Field. We're about 20 minutes away from kickoff on a sunny and warm day. I'll have lineups and any notes coming in just a few moments.
Follow along as Assistant SID Tim Prahl live blogs the Milwaukee Women's Soccer starts a five-game road trip Friday with a contest at DePaul. Kick-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. Central and the blog will go live by that time. Thanks!
