2:23 - And there is the buzzer! What a game! Hat tricks from Dorre and VU's Williams. Great comeback for UWM! Great fight! Easily could have packed it in after being down 3-0 at the half but made an incredible comeback.
2:22 - Great defending from Caity! Clears a hard challenge and it's 30 seconds to go.
2:20 - Stephans gives it a ride from the left but it catches the side netting.
2:19 - Dorre with a chance but it goes sailing high. Paige with another nice save. This game has a frantic pace now...3:30 to play.
2:18 - Vandy's had the more dangerous chances thus far in the second OT. Milwaukee countering...
2:13 - UWM starts the second OT with the ball. Morgan Emma and Mel back on but I couldn't tell fast enough who came off. Sorry.
2:10 - Panthers earned a corner but time expired and we're on to the second extra time.
2:08 - GREAT save by Paige! Game is very open right now. Either team could score but (and call me a little bias if you will) it seems to me Vandy's defense is more shaken than Milwaukee's at the moment.
2:06 - Lewers header again just wide. Something's gotta give...
2:05 - Foul in a bad spot by UWM. Coach Henschel is not pleased with the call to say the least. Paige corrals the chance.
2:04 - Doing some digging...I believe this is the first hat trick by a Panther since Apple's (Sarah Hagen's) three against Green Bay back on Oct. 28 of 2011.
2:03 - Strong attacks from both sides. Lewers wound up on a ball from Kelsey but her shot was blocked by a scrambling defense.
2:00 - VU starts with it to start the extra time. Krissy, V and Sky back in for Maria, Mel and Morgan.
1:54 - And we're headed to overtime! Great clearance from Alleine (who I might start shortening to Al) to stop a quick counter by VU.
1:52 - Paige with a save! Low shot from Williams pushed wide. One more minute...
1:51 - Lewers just misses what could've been the game winner! Her shot goes far post but wide by maybe three inches.
1:49 - Yellow card on Stern. Five minutes left.
1:47 - Kelsey with low liner that's saved. Vanderbilt not backing down but can't seem to figure out Milwaukee's attack. Lewers' goal was an absolute rocket by the way...taking a pass from Morgan just outside the top of the box and just nailing it.
1:44 - LEWERS! Tie game! 8 to play!
1:42 - Morgan, Stern and Mel all back on for the Panthers for Krissy, Emma and Sky. 10 minutes to play.
1:40 - Vandy has both of its goal-scorers back in the game and Gray led an attack, playing it to the middle where another attacker's curling shot was saved one-handed by Paige and brought it in.
1:38 - Almost! Kelsey's cross just missed the diving leg of Lewers on the far post. The fight in this team cannot be understated. UWM easily could have packed it in and called it a day after falling down early. A lot of positives, no matter what the final may be.
1:33 - What a difference a half makes. Milwaukee looked slow and disconnected in the first half. Now they're connecting on everything and seem to be playing each other nearly perfectly. Whatever they said at halftime, it worked.
1:28 - Milwaukee keeps coming with some nice play in the box. Amy draws a foul aaaaand GOAL! It's Dorre again! Kelsey took the free kick and Hannah's header was perfectly placed to Dorre who headed it in! 4-3 with 22 to play. What a game!
1:23 - More good stuff from UWM but Maria's one-timed pass just misses Dorre on the far post. Great movement and great idea. Sky comes on for Morgan, Lewers for Mel. Just under half an hour left.
1:20 - WHOA! Dorre with a BLAST from about 30 yards out and buries it into the back of the net! Now 4-2. Impressed to see the fight from Milwaukee.
1:17 - And just like that it's 4-1. Williams strikes again, collecting a long pass and simply dribbling past the defense and rocketing it into the top of the net.
1:15 - Much better play from Milwaukee to start the second half. Passes are crisper, communication is better and distribution is very impressive. Vandy looked a little shocked after the goal but both teams playing at a high level now and it's a much more attractive game.
1:10 - Great play on the goal for the Panthers. Kelsey had a shot that was saved, Stern got the rebound and her shot was blocked...same story for Mel (who I should have mentioned started the second for Lewers) but Krissy collected it and blasted it home.
1:08 - And Milwaukee's on the board!! A ton of shots by UWM and Dorre finally finishes it. Good start to the half making it 3-1.
1:06 - Second half's underway. Milwaukee goes with its starting 11 with one switch...Maria stays in for Vienna. Nice run of play for the Panthers to start things off and Stern's shot goes just wide.
12:55 - A few observations...Milwaukee probably came out a little flat and Vanderbilt seemed to be riding high off their big win on Friday. That combination obviously didn't work out well for UWM, conceding two goals in the first seven minutes of action....Milwaukee's touches seemed off at first, which didn't help. The team got together and have played better after about 10 minutes in, but still have nothing to show for it on the scoreboard...This is a good opportunity for some of the subs. Some are already proving their worth leading up to today and more have gotten opportunities today. We'll see how the second half plays out and if that shakes up the lineup at all going forward.

12:48 - Caity does well to recover on a breakaway for Vandy, taking a shot to the face and there's the buzzer. 3-0 at the break. I'll have stats in a few minutes.
12:46 - Maria with a blast from distance but it's blocked and kicked out. The ensuing corner is shot by Alleina but blocked. That ensuing corner shot by Sky and blocked. THAT ensuing corner is shot by Mel and saved.
12:45 - Free kick for VU in a dangerous area but Iordanou sends it over the bar. 3 to play before the break.
12:40 - Nice run by a Vandy forward but Alleina and Emma make recover nicely and didn't even allow a shot. Taylor Swittel now on for Krissy. I think has subbed every player but their keeper by this point.
12:38 - Stop in play as a Caity went for a hard tackle and gets up slow. Limping a bit but she says she's good to play.
12:35 - Another good run for Milwaukee but Krissy's blast goes high. Sky now on for Morgan.
12:32 - Emma Worthington now on for Stern. Vandy also makes a pair of subs.
12:30 - Williams again sprung free. Hannah was jostling with her, but she's just too physical and puts it home to make it 3-0. 16 minutes left if the half.
12:28 - A pair of subs for Milwaukee. Mel in for Lewers up high and Maria takes over for V on the left.
12:26 - Great movement for Milwaukee and their most dangerous chance so far. Alleina to Amy to Kelsey to Stern to Krissy to Kelly to Morgan, whose shot just didn't have enough on it and was reigned in by the keeper.
12:22 - Gray got behind the defense again but a diving save by Paige denies her a goal.
12:20 - Nice ball from Kelsey sending Morgan down the right side but VU snuffed out the attack.
12:15 - Panthers are settling down a bit and the game is evening out but it's an up-hill climb from here on out.
12:11 - Apparently Vandy is still riding high after its big W over Wisconsin Friday night. VU has some fast + physical forwards who, right now, are causing some problems for the Milwaukee defense.
12:08 - It gets worse for Milwaukee. Another quick bit of passing by the Commodores and it's quickly 2-0 VU. Their speed up top is causing some trouble early here for UWM.
12:05 - Rough start for Milwaukee. A turnover in the middle and a nice give-and-go for VU and forward Cheyna Williams was one-on-one with Paige. She made one juke move and easily put it home. Not the start they were looking for.
12:01 - And we're underway! The Commodores start with the ball and instantly turn the ball over. Also, if any family of Emma Worthington is following along, she wanted me to say "hey" for her.
12:00 - Milwaukee again sporting their gold jerseys with black shorts and black socks. Vanderbilt is going with their all-white kit today.
11:50 - About 10 minutes to kickoff and we've got our starters. Milwaukee again goes with Paige in net, but makes one switch on the back line as Alleina Szydlowski makes her first start of the season, joined by Amy, Hannah + Caity. Midfielders and Forwards remain the same with Stern, Morgan, Vienna and Kelsey are in the middle and Krissy and Lewers are up top.
For Vanderbilt, they'll go with Liebman in goal, along with Richardson, Iordanou, Myers, Charley, Jarrett, Kator, Williams, Gray, Tillman and Lakin.
