Final
LU - Gonyo 10'
UWM - Lewers '16
UWM - Dorre 23'
Live Stats

9:02 - Here's your final box on a big win for UWM. Thanks for tuning in. I'll have the recap and box score on the site asap. Hopefully the wifi works on the bus. Have a good night and we'll see you next Wednesday at Engelmann.

8:58 - And that'll do it. Milwaukee improves to 3-6 on the year.

8:57 - Gonyo with a nice turn about 25 yards out but her shot goes soaring over.

8:55 - Oof! Senn taken down right at midfield but advantage played. Lewers earns a corner but nothing comes of it. Just two minutes left. Time to hold on!

8:54 - Lewers taken down just outside the box...Behnke takes it but it's right into the wall

8:52 - Another shot by Gonyo but right to Lincicum. This half definitely hasn't had as much action in the attacking areas as the first, but I'm sure Milwaukee isn't complaining about that too much.

8:51 - A whole batch of subs by Loyola...

8:50 - Another sub as Stephans comes back on for West. Exactly 8:00 left on the clock

8:48 - Lewers comes back in for Dorre with Milwaukee taking a deep throw in. 10 minutes to go in this one...

8:46 - Side note, Behnke had been waiting to check in for roughly 10 minutes. I think the longest I've seen someone stand on the sideline in my time as the soccer SID.

8:45 - Great run by Senn earns a corner. Behnke checks in for Manski and Kauffung's corner is cleared away with no danger

8:41 - Great rip from distance by Loyola but right into Lincicum's waiting arms.

8:38 - Stephans and Lyola's Hailey Merrill bang heads and both fall to the ground. Both trainers out to take a look. Both already up and talking and appear to be fine but West checks in for Stephans

8:36 - Gonyo with some fancy footwork on the attack for Loyola but her pass leads to an offside call, the Ramblers' fourth of the game

8:34 - Senn comes back on for Lewers. Just over 21 minutes left in regulation

8:32 - Foul on UWM. Ensung freekick is cleared away and now a foul on Loyola. Milwaukee "leads" the foul count, 11-5

8:28 - Good run by the Ramblers as Milwaukee's D was looking for the offside flag that never came. Dangerous cross but Lincicum snared it.

8:26 - Milwaukee with a few more dangerous chances but no shots on frame. Lewers looked like she was fouled just on the edge of the box but no call. Corrigan checks in for Behnke. 29 minutes left on the clock.

8:18 - Nervy moments for Loyola. They nearly had an own goal and then Kauffung had a rip inside the box through some traffic but another great, diving save by the LU keeper. 38:30 on the clock

8:11 - And we're underway. Loyola starts with it, going left to right.

8:10 - Just about to start the second half. One change for Milwaukee as Manski stays out there for LaPlant.

8:02 - First half thoughts...the ball really bounces here (have I said that before) off this turf and that's definitely taken some adjusting to. Couldn't get a clean look, but if I had to guess, that's how the hand ball in the box happened....Milwaukee did very well to respond to the early LU goal. Both goals were great shots and definitely seemed to be adjustments to the bouncy surface and pressure D by Loyola...interesting to see the half end without Smalley, Lewers or Dorre on the field - and there really wasn't much of a let up from the subs. We'll see how coach Henschel uses his bench here in the second half with this being the lone game of the week and conference play starting up next week.

8:00 - Here's your halftime box score...

7:55 - And we hit the break 2-1 in favor of UWM. Stats and other fun facts coming at the break

7:53 - A little bouncing around for both teams but nothing to write about. One minute left before half

7:49 - Mariah Vichich is the injured Rambler and she's able to walk off on her own. Looked like she just bumped knees...hopefully nothing more. Tetzke in for Lewers during the stoppage. 4:56 left in the half

7:46 - Senn forces a bit of confusion by the LU defense on an awkward pass back and almost finds herself with the ball and an empty net but it just got tangled up and cleared away. Stop in play here as a Rambler is down on the field.

7:44 - Worthington now checks in for Dorre and two more subs for the Ramblers. 7:02 left in the half.

7:41 - And Manski in for LaPlant. 10 minutes left on the clock

7:40 - A little bit of a scary moment for Panther fans as the ball skips past the defense near the corner of the box. The LU forward is closed down quickly by Lincicum, who slides and gets her hands on it but couldn't control. Blanchard eventually booted it to the wing and Bestwina dribbled it out of danger.

7:37 - Three subs for Loyola. Manski now steps up to the scorers table and is set to check in

7:35 - Dorre with another rip on a floater just inside the box and a diving save at the corner of the post keeps the score the same. That one looked like it was heading in. Great save.

7:33 - Interesting sub as Senn checks in for Smalley. We'll see if someone switches to Smalley's roll or if they go with more of a three-forward formation...

7:29 - Great individual effort from Dorre. Dribbled around I'd call it two defenders (more were around) and then just ripped it with a girl on her hip from the top of the box near post

7:28 - KRISSY DORRE everybody! Dorre with a BLAST from the top of the box and Milwaukee takes the 2-1 lead at the 22:01 mark.

7:21 - And just like that, GOAL MILWAUKEE!!! Blanchard with a long, diagonal ball into the box and Lewers one-times it far post

7:19 - Not a ton of action since the goal. Little bit of play in each attacking area but nothing threatening either way

7:13 - Another Rambler freekick finds one of their players in the box and the looping header was a tricky one that Lincicum had to punch over the bar. Ensuing corner lead to a handball in the box and the PK is converted for an early 1-0 Rambler lead.

7:11 - Panthers called for a handball about 25 yards from goal and the ensuing freekick was a tricky one - a low squibbler - but Paige was waiting for it.

7:09 - Dorre with a header for the game's first chance but it's well over the crossbar.

7:06 - Early observation - the ball REALLY bounces off this turf.

7:04 - Aaaaand we're underway! Milwaukee starts with the ball and is going left to right. Panthers wearing their all-black kit with LU going with white jerseys, yellow shorts and yellow socks.

7:01 - Beautiful night here at Loyola Soccer Park

6:54 - And here's your starters for tonight's match. Same XI for five straight games now

6:48 - Just a few minutes left in warmups and apparently a few minutes left of sunlight...

6:00 pm - Hello and welcome from Chicago! The team is here after a lovely early dinner at Panera. Just starting to settle in with warmups. It's a nice, clear evening from Chicago's north side right near Lake Michigan. I'll have lineups, the occasional picture and my best description of the game for those who can't make it to tonight's game as we go. Thanks for following along and enjoy the game!

9:09 -
Milwaukee improves to 2-5 on the year in the wildest game since....well, since last year. Time to go work. Thanks for tuning in!

9:08 - FINALLY FINAL. HOLY COW!

9:06 - SYNDEY SENN!!!! GOAL!!!! 1:32 left. 5-4 Panthers!

9:02 - And we're tied.

9:00 - Lewers checks back in for Krahn. Just 6:09 left on the clock. Come on, ladies...

8:59 - Things getting tense here at the Valley. Marquette with the ball and pressuring but nothing too serious at the moment. We sure know how to make it interesting, don't we.

8:55 - Corrigan came on for Smalley at the goal....and I believe Dorre is already standing to check in for Corrigan.

8:54 - Another goal by Marquette and it's 4-3 Milwaukee. Player had a nice finish near post inside the box.

8:52 - Senn checks in for Lewers. 14:15 left on the clock. Nice to see Sydney back on the field

8:49 - Blanchard takes a spill and Chad comes out to take a look. He's stretching her out but Tatum Smith is set to check in for her.

8:44 - Marquette making it interesting with another goal. Tough floating ball going at Lincicum...she tipped it off the bar but Vicker was literally standing right there waiting for it. Just 16 minutes to go...

8:43 - More nice moves by Milwaukee finishes with a header by Smalley in the box but it goes high.

8:40 - Hand ball called on Milwaukee in the box. MU's Luba takes the PK and scores. 4-1 Milwaukee

8:39 - MU switches keepers

8:38 - Forgot to announce it but Krahn came on for Dorre at the goal

8:37 - LaPlant nut megged her defender and ran right at the box. Forced the other defenders to converge and layed the ball off to Behnke. She deeked a defender and buried it!

8:32 - 4-0 MILWAUKEE!!! Behnke with her first of the year!

8:28 - Dorre with a diving effort to get a cross into the box from the right but the keeper makes a equally diving effort to grab the ball and squash the attack. Timeout on the field for an injured MU player

8:27 - Free kick taken by Stephans and headed by Lewers but it went just a little wide of the frame.

8:20 - Here are your stats from the first half...

8:15 - Ran to the bench at half time but we're back underway here in the second half. Milwaukee started with it, played it to the corner but a goal kick was earned

7:55 - And we go to the half with Milwaukee up 3-0 at Marquette! Last win here was 2008, 1-0 on a goal by Sarah Hagen.

7:53 - Two minutes left in the first half but pinch me! I can't believe this is happening!

7:49 - And Krahn is in. 6 and a half left in this first half

7:47 - Header by Marquette in the box but it had nothing on it. Paige gobbles it up. Krahn set to check into the game for Dorre

7:43 - Kauffung sent the corner into the box. Stephans went for the header and got a slight touch on it but not enough, but that was more than okay for Lewers, who was waiting and put it far post. No chance for the keeper.

7:40 - Corner for Milwaukee....GOALLLLL! Lewers!!! 3-0 Panthers

7:38 - A blast by Lewers goes just to the left of the goal. Lots of possession by Milwaukee...

7:35 - A lot of action but nothing terribly threatening for either team since the goals.

7:26 - Trying to provide a little more info...LaPlant took a feed from Lewers just to the right side of the box and burst through the defense. Her shoot was partially touched by the keeper but it easily made it's way into the back of the net. On Dorre's goal...the ball was sent in long from the midfield by a still unknown player (we were all working in the box on the first goal still) and Behnke headed it from the left side of the box to the middle where Dorre was there all alone and easily finished.

7:24 - This happened much quicker than my typing but GOAAALLL!!! Dorre makes it 2-0!

7:19 - GOAAALLLL! LaPlant is on fire! Makes it 1-0 Milwaukee!

7:16 - A right-footed blast by Behnke toward the far post corner is saved by a diving keeper. Great buildup by the Panthers

7:14 - Foul Milwaukee. MU with a sub which appears to be blood-related and the free kick leads to nothing.Milwaukee with the ball on the left but Behnke's leading pass is just out of the reach of Lewers

7:12 - Corner kick for Marquette. Snuck behind the D, who was looking for an offside call, but no dice. And the corner leads to a shot by MU and Paige Lincicum's first save of the day

7:10 - Marquette's SID says she thinks they're having Gametracker issues. She's already on the phone with CBS. A pros pro.

7:09 - And we're underway! Marquette starts with the ball and is going left to right

7:05 - Anthem about to begin as it's starting to get dark here in Milwaukee

6:59 - Milwaukee looks like it'll be sporting its all-black kit for today's "road" game. MU looks like it's rolling with gold tops, white shorts and white socks with some nifty blue trim. Fancy.

6:56 - We're just a few minutes away from our 7:05 scheduled kick off. Both teams are currently huddling and look like they're ready to get underway. Just have to run through intros, the anthem and I believe there is a moment of silence planned in remembrance of 9/11

6:55 - A shot from the field during warmups...

6:45 - Starting lineups are in! Milwaukee will be sticking with its same starting 11 from the past two games. Lincicum in net - Bestwina, Van Keulen, Blanchard + Kauffung in back - Behnke, Stephans, Smalley and LaPlant in the middle - Lewers and Dorre up top.

Or for the more visual fans out there....

6:30  - We're about half an hour from kickoff and both teams are on the field! It is - to put it mildly - ridiculously cold down at the Valley tonight. 53 on Sept. 11. Not cool. But I digress. Here's my view of the field from the pressbox...

5:00 - Hello and welcome to another player blog with the Milwaukee women's soccer team! Tonight's matchup is against crosstown rival Marquette at a chilly Valley Fields. Tonight's game is also live on TV on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel for those in the viewing area. I'm told that feed is also being picked up by Marquette and live streamed at the link above. As always, feel free to fire any questions if you have them either at my twitter account (@timprahl) or at the team account (@MKE_WSoccer). Thanks and enjoy!

MILWAUKEE |  0:2  | No. 12 SOUTH CAROLINA
Final
SC - Groff (15')
SC - Groff (80')
Live Stats

3:33 - It's all over. Milwaukee definitely got out-played by the nationally-ranked Gamecocks but man were they unlucky not to score. 2-0 on the road to the No. 12 team that hasn't given up a goal so far this season...not a terrible result by any means. Thanks for tuning in. Hopefully this was helpful for those who were unable to watch. See you next weekend at Engelmann!

3:32 - A light rain starts to fall on the field with about two minutes left

3:29 - LaPlant hits the post! Bah! Great steal again in the attacking area by the senior and she had a 1v1 with the keeper but her shot BLASTS off the right post and is cleared away.

3:24 - Worthington checks in for Smalley. Just over seven minutes left.

3:22 - Shoot. South Carolina makes it 2-0. Milwaukee pushed up on the attack. SC got a stop and quickly countered and it was all too easy for Groff for her second of the day.

3:19 - WHAT A SAVE BY PAIGE! Comes off her line as SC beat the offside trap and makes a huge save on the edge of the box. Gamecocks get the rebound but the shot goes over the bar. Phew!

3:13 - The announcers got pretty loud there. Van Keulen had some jersey pulling in the box but the ref doesn't seem to care as Paige snuffs out another cross. Also, LaPlant checks back in (I missed her coming off for Smalley) and now replaces Lewers. 17 minutes left in this one

3:11 - Manski checks back in for Amy. SC with a nice chance on a shot from a tough angle on the right but a great save by Paige coming out to force the shot early

3:07 - WATER BREAK #2! 22:49 left on the clock. Not much to report so far in the second half.

2:55 - Great recovered by Van Keulen to block a 1v1 shot attempt. Nothing comes of the ensuing corner and Callie comes back on for Smalley.

2:51 - And now Lewers gives one of the Gamecocks a little push after the play. She was getting fouled and the ref finally called it but Kelly lost her cool for a moment there. Just a quick word but nothing more

2:50 - The ref has a quick word with one of the SC attackers after she gave Amy a nice shove heading out of bounds.

2:48 - South Carolina with the best chance to far but they're flagged for offside

2:44 - Milwaukee starts with the ball to open the second...looks like it's the same starters from the opening kick

2:40 - My two cents on the game so far...Milwaukee is incredibly unlucky to not have a goal. Getting the PK call was huge but the save by SC's D'Angelo was even bigger. She's one of the best in the nation for a reason and Panthers should have had the early lead...that save seemed to spark some urgency into the life of South Carolina. For roughly the next 20 minutes of the game, SC dominated...UWM needs to fix its holes on defense and stay marked. SC's forwards are faster and they have to account for that. Milwaukee's offense has done well enough when they have possession - they just need that one lucky break to beat D'Angelo and knot this up!

2:26 - Halftime! Milwaukee trails the No. 12 team in the nation 1-0, South Carolina. Stats and a few notes coming up

2:22 - Corrigan checks into the game with just over three minutes left, replacing Stephans. Now, less than two minutes and Anny West comes in for Smalley

2:20 - Ball bounces around a lot in the SC box...I think technically Callie had a shot but nothing dangerous as they just couldn't get a good look.

2:15 - Great steal by LaPlant just outside the box and she's fouled. Amy takes the shot but it goes into the wall and is sent away

2:10 - Another great run by South Carolina and a perfectly placed ball but the wide-open header goes wide of the net. Also, I missed this earlier but Callie O'Donnell checked into the game for Tetzke.

2:08 - Bestwina checks into the game for Manski.

2:05 - Geez. Should've been another right there as SC had a diving stab at the ball in the box and the shot went just wide. Far too many holes early on...

2:02 - WATER BREAK! 21:17 left on the clock.

2:00 - Oh boy - Panthers dodged another bullet. Poor defending on one corner and a pair of headers led to a save by Paige. Next corner ended up in the back of the net but the whistle blew for a foul first.

1:58 - Great look for UWM but the shot goes just high. Lewers drew all the attention on the left and found LaPlant inside the box on the right but her shot went a few feet over the bar.

1:54 - A quick restart by SC gets behind the defense and Johnson had Paige 1v1 but decided to pass and missed her intended teammate. Dodgers a bullet there. Panthers need to keep the ball a little longer and calm down with now

1:52 - Sydney Senn (who started in stead of Dorre...sorry about that) gets hit in the head and trainer Chad out to take a look. Senn looks like she's okay and walks off on her own but Maddie Tetzke will check in for her. 17th minute

1:50 - And just as I type that, South Carolina scores. Groff had the ball on the endline, got through two defenders and Lincicum was just off her post. Groff perfectly shot it right between Lincicum and the post. 1-0 Gamecocks

1:48 - Replay shows the keeper just guessed right on that one and got lucky. Stephans put it toward the post but a great save. SC seems to be playing with a bit more urgency since the PK

1:47 - PK! Behnke taken down in the corner of the box away from the net but a legit call. Maria takes it and what a save by SC! Unlucky to be held out there!

1:44 - SC's leading forward Johnson with a great run to get behind the defense on an angle but Paige comes out and makes the save off her shins. 10 minutes in and it's been a pretty open game so far.

1:41 - Gamecocks get to the corner and try to cross but Paige snatches the ball out of the air. Behnke takes the ball down the left for UWM and tries the same but the ball just soared a little high over Dorre.

1:37 - SC had the opening kick but Milwaukee already with corner. Taken short and nothing comes of it but an encouraging start to see the team start with confidence.

1:36 - And we're underway from Columbia! Milwaukee's in their road gold jerseys, black shorts and black socks. South Carolina is in their all whites.

1:35 - Here's today's starting 11

1:34 - Hello and welcome to today's game blog! I'm not with the team in South Carolina but I thought since the game is live streamed but not very easily accessible, I'd still run the game blog.

WSOC: v. Tennessee

MILWAUKEE |  0:5  | TENNESSEE
Final
UT - Wikinson (8')
UT - Wilkinson (32')
UWM - Own Goal (42')
UT - Neal (49')
UT - DeGooyer (70')
Live Stats

5:53 - Goal disallowed by an offside for Tennessee and that's all she wrote. Rough way to start the season for Milwaukee. Thanks for following. Panthers look to regroup against Oregon on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

5:48 - Corner taken by Kauffung and Lewers blasts in but into a wall of defenders and cleared out.

5:46 - Worthington back on, this time for Behnke. 6 minutes left in the match.

5:44 - A peak around the other league scores and Oakland fell 4-0 to Western Michigan in their opener. Detroit's down 2-1 to Toledo at the break. Green Bay looks to be up 3-1 on IUPUI late in the 2nd.

5:42 - Freekick in the attacking area by Stephans finds the head of Lewers but it goes just wide.

5:39 - Two more collegiate debuts as Jen Eberhardy set to check in for Maria and Erin Corrigan about to take Van Keulen's spot.

5:34 - Sky Perna comes on for Kelly Manski after the goal.

5:33 - Goal by #9 for UT. 20 minutes left in this one.

5:31 - Water break's over and Senn checks back in for Dorre. Let's see if the youngsters can duplicate some of the magic they created against Drake in the exhibition...

5:28 - WATER BREAK #2! Also, Anna Smalley makes her collegiate debut, filling in for Holbert.

5:25 - I think Tennessee has subbed their entire team so far this half.

5:23 - Header by Lewers in the box was going just wide but Vienna was there and rocketed it toward the far post but the UT keeper made a diving save to keep the clean sheet in tact so far.

5:20 - Maddie Tetzke set to check in again for Morgan. Tennessee is definitely bigger than most of the Milwaukee players but Morgan and Maddie are pretty quick and have caused problems in that area.

5:17 - Manski ends up with the ball at her feet just inside the box but had to rush her shot and a dipping ball just went over the top left corner.

5:14 - Lewers comes back into the game for Anny and Amy Kauffung checks in for Caity on the left.

5:09 - Same way Wilkinson scored her second. Whipped in from the wing and headed in on the backside. Oops, and West started the second for Worthington. No other changes for Milwaukee.

5:08 - Goal UT. Header by #14 Neal on a cross from the left wing.

5:06 - Second half underway. UT starts with it but Milwaukee takes it away. Holbert takes it right up the middle and feeds Dorre in the box. Shot went just high. Best look all game.

5:00 - SID Tim's thoughts on the first half...Milwaukee came out a little rusty to start the season and UT's international stud made them pay. From around the 10th minute on, the game has been more even, though Tennessee has the majority of the chances. Milwaukee's best chances haven't resulted in shots so that stat is a little skewed...Lots of newcomers already playing with Blanchard starting and West, Senn and Tetzke already seeing the field as subs. All have looked pretty comfortable so far. Senn has shown a few flashes up top and Cassidy has been pretty solid in the back (from what I've seen)...Panthers really aren't out of this game, despite the score. Just need to make the big gun better and be a little more dangerous/link up better up top and can easily come back. It was this same field where they were down 3-0 last year to Vanderbilt before a crazy second half resulted in a 4-4 draw.

4:53 - Halftime stats

                     UT             UWM
Shots              8                  1
Saves             1                  1
Corners          2                   0
Fouls              6                  2

4:50 - Halftime here in Madison. I'll have stats and my two cents here shortly

4:45 - Tennessee with a corner and it ends up in the back of the net off a Panther.

4:41 - GREAT save by Paige. Busted play in the box and Paige committed early and made a huge save! Maddie Tetzke about to make her collegiate debut for Morgan. Lots of newcomers checking in already. Shows what the coaches think about this year's freshman class.

4:35 - Lots going on suddenly. UT sent a ball into the box from the right and Wilkinson jumped over everyone and headed it near post to make it 2-0. A few subs now for Tennessee and Lewers in for Behnke for the Panthers.

4:33 - Wilkinson with a header and it's 2-0 Tennessee.

4:27 - 25th minute and freshman Sydney Senn makes her collegiate debut, checking in for Dorre.

4:22 - Water Break! UWM with quite a few more chances in the last 8-10 minutes. Definitely took a few minutes to settle in and get the rhythm of the game. We'll blame it on preseason jitters.

4:20 - First sub of the year, Anny West makes her Milwaukee debut, taking Worthington's spot.

4:18 - Vienna with a shot off a set piece that was perfectly executed but a nice save by UT.

4:13 - Behnke curls up the left side and crosses on into the box but the keeper was waiting. Best chance so far for Milwaukee.

4:10 - Goal came on a ball lobbed into the box where Wikinson was waiting. A UWM defender was there (couldn't see who) but fell down and it was an easy finish for the goal scorer.

4:08 - Wilkinson scores her first of the year for Tennessee and UT takes a 1-0 lead.

4:04 - UT flagged for off side and that's the first whistle of the game. Tennessee immediately wins the ball back and Paige comes out for a tackle on the edge of the box and it's cleared from danger. Five minutes in and that was the first chance for either team.

4:02 - Wisconsin says they're having GameTracker issues and have called tech support to come help. Hopeful it can be fixed shortly.

4:01 - And the 2014 season is officially underway! Panthers start with the ball...

3:58 - Also, refs just informed us there will be water breaks during the game. Likely just one per half, but it is mighty warm and humid here today. Weather.com says it's 86 degrees but feels like 93 with the humidity.

3:57 - Milwaukee's rolling with their all-white kit and Tennessee's sporting their orange tops with white shorts and orange socks.

3:52 - Tennessee counters with Simmons in net, Sirna, Morrow, Santorio and Wade at D. Ferguson, Christy and Spade are listed as midfield with Wilkinson, McClung and Parry up top. Volunteers running a 4-3-3. Wilkinson's their player to watch. Lots of preseason pub about her in various publications. The senior from New Zealand has also played in both the FIFA World Cup in 2011 and the 2012 London Olympics. Not bad.

3:49 - Starters for the first game of the year are in! Paige is back in net to start her sophomore season. The back line starts with Kelly Manski, Rachael, freshman Cassidy Blanchard and Caity. Midfielders are Morgan, Vienna, Kelsey, Maria and Emma, with Krissy slotted as the lone forward.

3:38 - A few notes from around the league while we wait for kickoff, Youngstown State dropped their opener to New Hampshire, 1-0. Also, if live stats are working, Oakland-Western Michigan and Detroit-Toledo are both scoreless in the first half.

3:20 - Warm ups underway... also, sorry, but word is that there's no live stream of either game this weekend. Here's to hoping GameTracker doesn't crash on the opening weekend!

3:11 - Hello and welcome to the first women's soccer blog of the year! SID Tim here and I'll be bringing you all the action from Milwaukee's first contest against Tennessee. Kick off is just under an hour away and both teams are on the field on this hot, muggy day. Feel free send any questions if you have them either here, or on twitter @TimPrahl or @MKE_WSoccer.

Thanks for tuning in. Just a quick note from other UWM sports...Men's basketball beat James Madison, Swimming dominated the Stevens Point Border Battle, Volleyball dropped a five-setter to Cleveland State. We'll see you next season.

8:48 - Maria with blast from waaaay out but it's wide of the frame and that will do it. Tough way to end what turned out to be a remarkable season.

8:45 - Mel comes on for Swittel. Nice way for her to end her career. 3:20 left on the clock

8:42 - Michigan caps the night with one more. The extra attacked left another unmarked and it was an easy finish. 4-0 with 5:30 left

8:39 - I'd guess we're in a 3-4-3 right now with Swittel joining Lewers + Dorre up top. Maria kind of floating in the middle. Amy at left back, Manski at right. Anything goes here with just 8 to play

8:37 - Swittel back on, this time for Van Keulen. Ezurike also came back on a few minutes ago...

8:33 - Oooooo, a bunch of Milwaukee players on the attack but just can't come up with the finisher. Lewers back on for Swittel. 13:40 to play

8:25 - Taylor Swittel now on for Lewers up top. Great ball by U-M but Nat forces the girl wide and her shot on an empty net hits the side netting outside the goal.

8:24 - Just kind of one of those nights for Milwaukee...a beautiful cross into the box from I believe Kelsey but it was Maria and V on the receiving end and both players were leading with their shooting feet...meaning neither were able to get a good swing on it and it was cleared away. 23 minutes to get something going.

8:19 - Not a ton to write about for a bit. Michigan's been on the attack most of the last five or six, but really no threatening chances. Milwaukee did have a nice run but Kelsey's move in the box was snuffed out at the last second. Michigan takes Ezurike out. 26 to play.

8:14 - Maria comes back on but for Morgan. I believe this is the first time all season she has not come on for V. Looks like Milwaukee is changing it's shape a little...

8:13 - A cross in the box intended for Ezurike and again Nat is there. She's coming out of the gates strong in the second half.

8:10 - Michigan with a free kick from just outside the area but Nat again comes up big. So far it's been mostly Wolverines to start the second.

8:05 - Ezurike with a blast but Nat comes up with a big save.

8:03 - Second half underway. Milwaukee now attacking left to right. Michigan with the first threat of the half but is called for a foul and Nat will boot the ball from inside her own box.

7:53 - First half thoughts...the stats are pretty telling. Both teams have nine shots, both teams have one save but three of Michigan's shots have gone in the back of the net. Save for a few-minute run by U-M, the game has been very even. Milwaukee cannot afford to leave players unmarked though...Panthers have possessed well most of the half and generated good shots, but Michigan's defense has been quick to close and I'd guess the majority of UWM's shots have been blocked...Yes, the ref screwed up and it should have been 1-1, which would have changed the game who knows how, but Michigan has been more ruthless on the offensive end. Milwaukee unlucky to not have a goal but can't use that as an excuse and will have to continue to battle like they have all season. Things looked pretty bleak at half against Vanderbilt (down 3-0) and they came back then. Can this team continue the season-long trend of late-game comebacks? 45 minutes to find out...

7:48 - Stats

                UWM   U-M
Shots          9           9
Saves          1           1
Corners      3           0
Fouls          1           2

7:46 - Halftime here at U-M Soccer Stadium. UWM trails 3-0.

7:41 - Pair of shots by Michigan but both went wide of the frame. A little too much for comfort on the last one.

7:39 - Worthington comes into the game for Stern. 6:37 left on the clock.

7:37 - Lewers gets a nice feed in the box but her shot goes right at the keeper. Would be nice to get one before the half...

7:36 - Holbert with a low liner from distance but it goes a few feet wide right. I'm hearing there are some issues with GameTracker. They're working as best they can. Michigan with another good chance but the shot goes well high.

7:34 - Callie on for Morgan. 11:30 to play before the break. Michigan possessed waaaaay too much in the time of their two goals and the result is pretty obvious.

7:30 - Michigan scores and no waiving that one off. Ezurike scores from close range and it's 3-0. Maria in for V. 15 minutes before half.

7:28 - Michigan scored again but it was called off - offside. Crazy play...through ball to the runner and Nat came way out and dove head first bu tmissed it...the attacked didn't collect it until the end line and had no angle, slotted it back and THAT player played it back to the girl on the end, who scored but was definitely offside.

7:25 - Bah! Morgan had the ball in the box and missed Manski WIDE open on the right side. Still got off two good shots (Lewers + Morgan) but both were blocked by the recovering defense.

7:22 - Another Panther corner but Kelsey's drop to Stern and subsequent shot were nothing too serious. Milwaukee still doesn't seem too rattled but are definitely playing with more urgency.

7:16 - Michigan goal, Toohey scores her second of the season. Wolverines again possessed along the endline and slotted it back toward the top of the box...two players there and only one defender. Shot went far post and Nat couldn't get to it.

7:15 - Another corner for Milwaukee. Amy sets it up aaaaand...it's headed away by U-M.

7:13 - Panthers do not seem fazed or rattled by the early goal at all. 15 minutes in and I'd say it's pretty even possession-wise. Michigan probably has more in the attack, but really it's been pretty even both ways.

7:10 - Amy with some good individual defending of Ezurike. Long throw into the box is cleared by Amy. Threat averted.

7:08 - Haven't seen anything like that all season. Should be 1-1. I'm not trying to be a homer...everyone in the box agreed. Milwaukee will have to play on but this game should be level.

7:04 - Dorre with a rip from distance leads to a corner and Milwaukee is ROBBED of a goal. The ball floated in the air, V get a body on it and Al was there and got the ball across the line but Michigan cleared it and the ref never made a signal. Clearly a goal.

7:03 - The Wolverines carried the ball down to the end line and Ezurike was far too wide open and finished far-post very easily. Can't leave that experienced of a goal scorer that open.

7:02 - Michigan's Nkem Ezurike scores her 12th of the season and it's 1-0 U-M early.

7:01 - Michigan is traveling left to right here in the first, meaning Milwaukee is attacking right to left.

6:59 - Michigan starts with the ball, launching it to the corner of the box and Nat gets in on the action early, smothering the long ball.

6:55 - Anthem about to start. Here are your starting lineups...

6:50 - UWM will be going with their all-black uniforms tonight with Nat wearing her gray jersey, black shorts + golds socks. Michigan will be in their home whites that have yellow sleeves. Can't say I've seen their goalie but for the fashion conscious people out there, I'll update before kick off.

6:40 - The big note is Nat in net as Paige is still out with injury. Caity is still limited but I'm told she's cleared to play, but Rachael has been very solid in her absence lately and should be fine. The Wolverines are a very good squad, scoring 36 times on the season and conceding just 10. Milwaukee has had no trouble scoring of late, but their defensive injuries all season along with their youth in the back have allowed for the opponents to capitalize at times. Should be an interesting matchup.

6:33 - Starters are in. Milwaukee will go with Natalie Fettinger in goal. The backline will be Van Keulen, Amy, Alleina and Manski. Mids are Vienna, Kelsey, Stern + Morgan, with Lewers and Dorre up top.

Michigan goes with Bucklin in net, defenders Zadorsky, Mannino, Hein and Sosenko, mids Ordonez, Murillo, McCombs, Toohey and Lewis, with the goal-scorer Ezurike listed as the lone forward.

6:25 - Here's a view of the field. It's a beautiful night here in Michigan. Low 50's and dry so far...

6:22 - Hello and welcome from Ann Arbor! We're all set for Milwaukee's NCAA First Round matchup against No. 11 Michigan. There is no live stream tonight unfortunately, but I'll do my best to bring you all the action on this blog. If you have any questions, feel free to post them either here or on Twitter

Final
Live Stats | Watch Live

9:25 - FINAL! UWM 1, OU 0. Panthers take home 14th-consecutive Horizon League crown. What a great game. Really can't stress that enough. Look for reaction and recap on the site coming up. Thanks for tuning in...tonight and all season!

9:20 - Yellow card to Amy for clearing the ball after the whistle. Dangerous free kick of OU...30ish out

9:18 - Five to play! This has been an awesome game all around

9:12 - What a save by Paige! Point blank shot, great save! Followed by a great show by Lewers and an equally great save by OU's Payj O'Shea.

9:06 - Solid shot by OU, solid save by Paige. Callie coming back on for Morgan. 16:31 to play. Really cold...really good game.

9:02 - Dorre back on for Mel. In scoreboard watching, Wright State takes down CSU, 1-0, on a late goal by the Raiders. Means Milwaukee has to win to host the tournament. A tie here in this game would tie Milwaukee and WSU, with Wright State having the tie breaker.

8:56 - Best chance by OU thus far but Paige is up to the challenge....and then a shot OFF THE BAR by the Grizz! UWM dodges a bullet there. 26 to play.

8:51 - Sorry for the lack of updates...my fingers are really cold. Mel on for Krissy. 32 minutes from the final horn.

8:40 - Thoughts from the first half...this team is by far the most like Milwaukee in the conference. Both teams try to possess and drive up the field with intent, unlike most other HL teams that boot it to talented forwards...UWM probably had the advantage in possession, but maybe 55-45 - it was close...Oakland created some decent chances but never really had the ball inside the box. Milwaukee's D holding strong through the first 45. Should be an entertaining second half.

8:38 - Sorry, was busy at half. UWM leads 6-3 in shots + corners, 1-0. Oakland has 3 saves to Milwaukee's 1.

8:23 - And we're at the half. 1-0 UWM. Stats coming up

8:17 - And Callie on for Morgan. Five minutes to go before the break

8:14 - Good play from both sides but really nothing to write home about still. It's been good soccer but not really dangerous chances. Sky on for the goal-scorer.

8:06 - Blast from distance for OU but right to Paige. Great ball from Dorre to Lewers but jusssst offside. Another shot from Amy and now a corner for UWM

8:00 - Pair of offside calls split each way but otherwise still nothing terribly dramatic.

In scoreboard watching, WSU and CSU are at zeros at the half. Detroit beat Youngstown and Green Bay is tied with Valpo, 1-1 in the first.

7:55 - Bit of possession for the Grizz and a shot from just outside the box with good pace but wide of the target.

7:50 - GOAL! Vienna Behnke takes a turnover near the endline and pounces on it! Blast from close range and keeper really had no chance. First goal Oakland has conceded since Oct. 5

7:47 - And we have our first stat! A shot from OU goes wildly over the bar for no danger.

7:41 - Mixed possession from each team but no stats thus far.

7:37 - Milwaukee wearing their all-blacks, Oakland in the all-whites and we're underway! UWM starts with the ball...

7:33 - My view for the night

7:12 - Starters are in. For Milwaukee, the Panthers go with Paige in net, Amy, Manski, Caity and Alleina on the back line, Stern, Kelsey, Morgan + V in the middle with Krissy and Lewers up top.

Oakland counters with Payj O'Shea in net, along with Sarah Reynolds, Stencel, Palmer, Brianne Horne, Jamie Horne, Haelewyn, Kellermann, San Cartier, Grant + Meghan Reynolds.

7:05 - Warmups are underway and we're almost set to go here at Oakland. It's Senior Day for the Grizzlies so there will be a fancy ceremony before we start but from what I hear we're set to start on time.

Hello and welcome from Oakland (Rochester, Mich.)! Kick off is set for 6:30 p.m. Central Time from OU Soccer Field. We'll have live updates here, and follow the links above to watch online and for stats. As always, if you have any questions or comments, feel free to message me on Twitter. Thanks for tuning in!

WSOC: @ Wright State

MILWAUKEE |  0:1  | WRIGHT STATE
80th - Soto (2nd)
Final
Live Stats | Watch Live

3:52 - Wright State hands Milwaukee its first conference loss of the season, 1-0. Thanks for tuning in! Check the website for the complete recap of today's game.

3:50 - Two minutes to go. Too many missed passes on the game for the Panthers...

3:46 - Pair of WSU subs and we're down to 5:30 to play before the final whistle. Corner for the Raiders.

3:43 - Stephans almost equalizes but her left-footed shot off a Kelsey cross just went left from about a yard out.

3:42 - Wright State finds the back of the net. Soto cleans up the ball in the box and puts it far post. Paige made a diving attempt but couldn't reach it. 10 minutes to bring it back for Milwaukee.

3:40 - Another near miss for the Raiders. They've been the clear winners of the last 20 minutes or so. Lewers back on for Swittel.

3:36 - WSU again misses on a header inside the box. Great set up by the Raiders off a corner and Fillion was able to find someone in the box but it went just wide. Dodged another bullet there.

3:34 - Worthington on for V. 17 minutes for either team to make something happen.

3:31 - A pair of free kicks in dangerous spots for UWM but nothing comes of it as the WSU defense holds strong. And on the other side Fillion JUST misses on a header from close range...someone forgot to mark their most lethal player. Swittel now in for Lewers.

3:27 - Lewers is manhandled but is called for the foul. To paraphrase a Will Smith song from years back, sometimes referees just don't understand...

3:23 - Stephans on for Morgan. Quick corner taken by Amy but the cross just missed Al on the far side.

3:19 - GREAT defense by Kauffung. Dangerous-looking attack by WSU but they took too many touches before firing and Amy made a slide tackle in the box to clear the chance.

3:17 - More possession for the Panthers on the attacking end but can't find that final ball. Nice job on a corner on the other end by Paige.

3:10 - Nothing much of note early in the second half. Elsewhere around the league...Valpo knocked off Youngstown State, 2-0, and Cleveland State took down Green Bay, 1-0.

3:05 - Van Keulen's out there warming back up and it looks like she'll be back out there in the second. Otherwise it's the starting 11 for UWM

3:03 - A few halftime thoughts...it's been a bit of an odd game. It doesn't feel like either team is totally into it...both have had some scoring chances but the game seems to lack that intensity. Maybe it's because I'm in a press box and not sideline like at Engelmann...Both teams probably should have at least one with Lewers in the opening minutes and one or two chances for Wright State...WSU is trying to beat Milwaukee's high back line but so far Paige has been up to the task on the few dangerous chances...This game needs a goal. I think one goal for either team will inject a little more life and urgency and potentially open some things up.

2:53 - A few halftime stats...

                    UWM    WSU
Shots               4            3
Saves              0             1
Corners           2            2
Fouls              3             2

2:50 - Bah, another scary moment by WSU but Paige makes a diving save and the shot goes just wide. Completely unmarked on the backside but we head to half at 0-0.

2:49 - Nice, gritty play by Morgan in the box and Kelsey gets a shot off but it's blocked before it can get to the net. One minute before the half.

2:44 - A take away by Morgan but Lewers' shot again goes wide. Milwaukee's best chances have come on the counter so far today. When WSU gets set on defense, they seem to have too many numbers to find any passing/shooting lanes.

2:38 - Kelly Manski makes a great tackle at midfield to start good push for the Panthers but Dorre has a clearance go off her leg to end the threat.

2:34 - Milwaukee earns its first corner of the game. Holbert sends it into the box but McCurdy punches it away. Also on an injury note, it looks like Caity has her ankle on ice and propped up. That would mean three freshmen on the backline for the rest of the game if she can't return.

2:29 - Stephans also comes on now for V, also on the left side. Milwaukee with some possession here...but Lewers' shot goes sailing high. Still zeroes here, 21 minutes to go before half.

2:27 - Play stopped as Caity comes off limping right in front of our bench. She steps off and Van Keulen comes on at left back.

2:22 - Pretty open play still...neither team has taken control of the game but Wright State has had the run of play of late.

2:18 - YIKES! Fillion (WSU's goal scorer) with a great chance for the Raiders but her lofted shot over Paige from just outside the box missed by inches! Scary moment for Milwaukee...Wright State is definitely trying to beat that high line by UWM with the long ball and Fillion just stayed on side to create that last chance.

2:13 - WSU with the first corner of the contest...but it's lofted out of play. Fun fact of the day - Raiders goalie Brooke McCurdy has scored a goal on the season. She has a powerful leg and scored two weeks ago on a free kick from near midfield. Something to keep an eye on today.

2:10 - Nice bit of play for UWM on the offensive side as V made a couple moves on the edge of the box but the defense came over to help and cleared the threat. Entertaining first couple of minutes in this one.

2:07 - Big opportunity for WSU in the opening minutes but Paige was up to the task, making herself big and coming out in a one-on-one...Lewers with a similar situation for Milwaukee and she probably should have scored but pushes it wide.

2:05 - National anthem has been sung and we're underway here at Wright State! The Panthers are sporting their all-black kit while WSU is wearing pink jerseys, white shorts and white socks.

1:56 - Just to elaborate on the weird weather comment...today started off dry, moved to rain, then stopped raining before downpouring during warmups and now the sun is trying to poke through. Sounds like it'll be off + on showers throughout the game, but who really knows on a day like today. It's definitely chilly, with temps in the low 50's forecasted as the high. Breezy too.

1:55 - Here are the starters for both squads. Milwaukee will go with their "normal" lineup...Paige in net, Al, Kelly Manski, Caity and Amy in back, Stern, Kelsey, Morgan + V in the middle and Krissy and Kelly Lewers up top.

Wright State counters with McCurdy in net with Gogolin, Fillion, Umotong, Thompson, Soto, Hamilton, Gross, Metzler, Wilson and Sedlock.

1:45 - Hello and welcome from a weird-weather day in Dayton, Ohio. I'll have updates here but you can also watch today's game online free on the Horizon League Network on the link above. I'll have starters in just a minute. As always, if you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave them here or message me on twitter.
